Help – Update 21 Jan 2015
UPDATE: 21 Jan 2015 – I received this message from Jennifer, “here is a link to the diary. I confirmed with my great aunt, it is her fathers.”
Yesterday, 28 Dec 2014 I got the following e-mail from my cousin in California.
Need to find family of Martin Rosenberg
338 Georgia Ave.
1919 diary found in suit case, third infantry Company 176 AEF
Relative Sarah Rosenberg
I created a tree on Ancestry.com for Martin and found his 1920 census record which had that address; 338 Georgia Ave.. The other hint that came up right away was a family tree that had Martin on one of the branches.
I contacted the tree owner and sent them the above “Help” information.
Today, 29 Dec 2014 I got this message on Ancestry.com.
“Family Tree Owner name: Hi, Martin was my great grandfather and Sarah my great grandmother.
It doesn’t always work this way; this easy, but sometimes I get lucky.
The timing couldn’t have been better because today is the last entry on “A Hundred Years Ago”; the blog about the diary of a 19 year old girl named Helena Muffly.
Helena’s granddaughter has been blogging every day for the past year telling us about her grandmother’s 1914 diary; e.g. “ 19-year-old Helena Muffly wrote exactly 100 years ago today: “
The “A Hundred Years Ago” blog is a good read, check it out.
Maybe the tree owner for Martin’s family will do the same; write a blog about the above mentioned diary.
